Fiat Panda (Tipo 169). 2003–11 (prod. 1,500,000 as of July 2009). 5-door estate. F/F, F/A, 1108, 1242 cm³ (4 cyl. OHC), 1248 cm³ diesel, 1368 cm³ petrol (4 cyl. DOHC). Very successful and practical tall hatchback, taking cues from larger SUVs and MPVs. Greater height did lead to more body roll. Comfortable and modern, and well priced; most models not geared toward performance with the exception of 100 hp model. European Car of the Year 2003–4. Four-wheel-drive model from 2005.
