Hyundai Sonata (Y1). 1988–93 (prod. unknown). 4-door sedan. F/F, 1997, 2350 cm³ (4 cyl. OHC), 2972 cm³ (V6 OHC). Hyundai’s first stab at the Ford Scorpio market, succeeding the Stellar and using Mitsubishi engines. Usual Korean dullness and Euro-bland styling (not ItalDesign’s best), but sold well thanks to entry into North America, leading to Canadian manufacture.
