Vauxhall Viva (HA). 1963–6 (prod. 309,538). 2-door saloon. F/R, 1057 cm³ (4 cyl. OHV). Compact car from Vauxhall, the first time the company had entered this segment for decades. Competed with Ford Anglia (1959–67) and Morris Minor 1000. SL from 1965. Light steering, short gearchange. Poor handling, but very successful for Vauxhall. Bedford 8 cwt and 10 cwt vans spun off this design and built into the 1980s. Exported to North America as Envoy Epic.
